just saturday...

it's just a "plain" ol' saturday around here today....and i am honestly loving it! due to the fact that i am on-call we have no real plans....cooked a big breakfast, cleaned up the house, played, lunch, brett took the kids to a couple b-ball games at his school, i ran a few errands and then back to the house to relax....ahhhh, this is kinda nice....though at any point brett will be bored and looking for something to do....right now he is content with his high life and march madness....tomorrow will be a bit more interesting, though still pretty low key ~ church, audrey's make-up softball game from today & then dessert reception for new church members....monday and reality will be here too soon!

...how 'bout you?? enjoying your weekend i hope :)

audrey loves the rockers on the front porch and will ask to just go rock from time to time....she has been known to sit out there with a pad and color pencils forever....well, she was a bit overwhelmed with yellow stuff, her words, when she got out there today....you all (well the southerners reading this) know what i am talking about ~ pollen! and lots of it!! she took to cleaning before she began a rockin' :)

here is our famous pear tree....i mentioned this tree in my first post, this tree will bring us TONS of pears this summer and if we are smart we'll start charging for picking off our tree....people were so funny last year, they would come knocking on the door asking for pears....and seeing as i don't eat them, i could care less! at least the kids like them :)

apparently, not knowing this when we bought this house, there is a very nice and BUSY soccer complex at the end of our road....this weekend was no exception.....well, other than it being a lacrosse tournament instead of soccer.....they even started literally busing people in and out....crazy!! just another quirky thing about our house....gotta love it :)

while all this fun and excitement was going on outside....my sweet baby boy was doing this inside....

look at those lashes!! the ONLY thing i can claim from this brett mini-me :)

oh, this precious boy has me wrapped around his chunky, monkey finger!!

more great ladies...

i have realized that i am quite fortunate to be surrounded by so many wonderful women in my life.....here is another group of fun ladies that i had the honor of working with....friday afternoon relaxing here....

and another talented friend of mine surprised audrey and i with this absolutely adorable bow and flip-flops while i was in buford this week.....so dang cute!!! you can also see these two cuties modeling her bows quite often....thanks again courtney, we love them!!

TOTYs....

Here are my TOTYs....otherwise known as Teachers of the Year and AMAZING women!!!

I was honored to have the opportunity to go to Buford, GA yesterday and see these two wonderful ladies give their awesome TOTY speeches....i was also able to swing by my old schools and visit ~ it was fabulous getting to see everyone!! Brett and I are so happy in Birmingham, but that doesn't mean you don't miss the people you left :)

...Sara and Heather have been great, precious friends to me and I am so glad to know that even though we are a few hours apart we will always continue to be great friends!!

Heather, the beauty above in all black, was named Buford Elementary School TOTY and is so, so deserving of this title! Actually, it doesn't even do justice for all that she does! Heather is a Special Ed teacher with the heart of an angel, patience of a saint and determination & strong will of no other...she uses each and every moment of her day as a teaching experience with her kids...and then after all she "deals" with at school, she gets to come home to BEAUTIFUL twin girls.....incredible....

Sara, the preg-o beauty in grey & black, was named Buford Middle School & Buford System TOTY.....and man is she worth it!! Math is her passion and it shines through in every second of her day....she goes over and beyond with each and every aspect of her teaching....she is known to be there bright and early and stays way too late :) she exemplifies teaching and LOVES her school, her hometown (i think she bleeds green & gold) and her job immensly...she relates to her students like no other...amazing...

so again, CONGRATS ladies....you deserve it!

it's official....

We are now official members of Mountain Brook Community Church....and we couldn't be more excited!! We were so happy to find a church that we immediately loved and felt at home....

We had a wonderful, last weekend of spring break....back to reality for Brett and Audrey tomorrow...getting back on schedule isn't always a bad thing :)

Spring is upon us now and we are gearing up for some serious outdoor playtime, softball games and family fun!! Of course, let's not forget with this warmer weather comes Spring Football Practice.....oh, the life of a coach is busy!

Speaking of busy....Audrey told Grams this weekend that her brother is quite Busy...what a perfect description of that little monster!!

cousins and vulcan...

aunt lisa, uncle keiven, payton & isabella came up for a visit yesterday.....we had so much fun playing on the playset and enjoying the city!

after lunch and playing on the playset we headed to the vulcan for some amazing views of our city....the boys and men were a wee bit uneasy about the height....grant wouldn't even put his feet on the observation deck!! crazy!! .....it was a beautiful day :)

the bigger kids and lisa & i headed to savage's for a cookie afterwards and then a stroll around the botanical gardens.....grant went home with brett and keiven for a nap ~ they weren't complaining :) the gardens are still blooming but wow ~ it is going to be gorgeous this year....i'm thinking some 5 & 2 year-old pics may have to be made there!!

....saturday we were able to see blake & megan and have a wonderful dinner at Aqua Terra and then stopped by for a beverage with our cabin mates :)
....sunday we went to lunch at mamaw jessie's and visited with the goats ~ always a highlight of the trip to homer, ga! after lunch we swung by to see melissa, kevin, the boys and her new belly bump!! we ended the day visiting mamaw montaree, papaw & uncle marty, so nice.
....monday before leaving town we stopped by audrey & grant's old, awesome, amazing daycare . we couldn't believe how big all the babies were!!

it was great to see everybody!! i can't wait when i go back in a few weeks to see my old co-workers :) needless to say, we can cram a TON into a weekend and still miss people.....hey ~ our doors in sweet bama are always OPEN!!!

these are the new twins!! audrey named them Stella & Boyd :)

after grant's adventure with the goats his pants were sopping wet!! mamaw said his feet would get too cold while they were drying so she hooked him up with some stylish knee socks :)
