Lake Chatuge & Good Music...

we headed back over to georgia this weekend for more family fun and an awesome concert....saturday morning we headed up to our family cabin in hiawassee, georgia on lake chatuge....we had a great time!! we did a little shopping (Audrey and I picked up some new hats for the summer!), went on a couple boat rides, fished, had some great food & thoroughly just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves....we even picked up some good ol' boiled peanuts while we were up there ~ yum-o! of course, we had to give grant a couple of lessons on which part of the peanut you eat - he kept eating the shell!!....there is something about the cabin that is so relaxing to me and we love going up there ~ we really should do it more often!!

monday morning brett & i headed back early to get ready for Zac Brown Band at Chastain....an amazing concert at an amazing venue with amazing friends ~ doesn't get much better than that!! I think sara, heather and i have decided that no matter where we may live we are going to stay close, raise our kids up together & continue to be good friends!! zac brown also did a great job reminding us all why we were there last night ~ to celebrate Memorial Day....a day to once again remember those who have fought, are fighting & have lost their lives so that we may live in this glorious country and fellowship together freely! With having a grandfather who served our county & a brother that is still currently serving our country, i never take for granted all that has been done and is being done for us!!

now, back to reality for me ~ work the rest of the week!! brett is on daddy duty this week - seeing as he is now out of school for the summer :) and we are anxiously awaiting next weekend ~ auntie joan, uncle joe, grandma gert & grams!!!!

all dressed up....

ever since audrey started reading the fancy nancy books she has wanted to go out to eat all dressed up.....then she started getting all the fancy nancy clothes for christmas, birthdays, etc...well today was the day....her school was closed and i had the day off, so we dressed up and headed out...i very rarely get a chance to spend girl time with audrey, i loved it as much as she did :) we ran a few errands, went to yankee pizza for lunch (which we let brett meet us!) and then home for parfaits.....precious!! she was even recognized by a few moms....too cute!

an idol....

i knew i really liked kris allen this year from american idol....he was a little quirky, down home, true, humble and just too cute....well then this morning i found this clip on a friend's facebook page.....absolutely amazing!! i knew there most have been another reason i liked him so much and this is it.....before pushing play please scroll down to the bottom of my blog and pause the music player.....enjoy....

the randomness of this post is undeniable.....but some days that's just me ~ random....

i am seriously enjoying these roses that my father-in-law sent home with me last weekend....there are definite perks to a family flower shop....



another thing i am enjoying......

our new outdoor furniture.....who knew that we would find this set for dirt cheap at publix?!? of course, with enjoying my new table and dining al fresco comes ~ mosquitoes!!! that is why we have our deck lit up like fourth of july with citronella tiki torches & candles :)

no lie....the first night we ate outside i turned into dinner for the bugs!! i counted 23 mosquito bites on my legs.....i looked like i was six again with chicken pox.... yuck!....i was the only one eaten up, i told brett it was my unbelievable sweetness {insert obscene amounts of laughter} & he quickly told me it was because i was not outside as much as everyone else and i was just fresh meat....hmmm, i like my reason better :)

well, this weekend will be jammed packed with fun.....the cabin for saturday & sunday and then chastain park on monday for an awesome concert with awesome friends... we are so happy to be able to spend time with friends & family again this weekend... and next weekend is auntie joan, uncle joe, grandma gert & grams ~ yeah!!! whew....i'm already worn out :)

we headed over to georgia this weekend for some fun.....saturday morning we went over to uncle blake's house for the kids to go swimming....blake had the pool warmed up nicely.....this was grant's first swim this season....i think he got the hang of it pretty quickly.....audrey is swimming like a fish again already....

after swimming, the kiddos had to check out uncle blake's new tractor.....as i have said before, the only difference between men and boys are the price of their toys....

sunday we chilled out at mimi & pop's house.....we had a great weekend!!

last weekend at grams started a busy, busy summer for us and we are looking SO forward to it!! blogging will be in overdrive :)
