book character pumpkin...

today miss priss had to turn in her pumpkin....but not just any pumpkin, a book character pumpkin!....thank goodness there is one particular character we LOVE in this house....

presenting the Fancy Nancy pumpkin!

now i must say she was a lot easier than i expected....but when you have bags full of fancy nancy dress up clothes it really helps!! sissy picked out her outfit and her hair (crazy fur-like yarn)....but i hot glued it down for her!....and then she painted her face...i think she turned out pretty dang cute :)

cowgirl round-up....

miss priss was invited to a precious birthday party on sunday.....a cowgirl round-up at the park!....we got all decked out in our cowgirl gear and of course, brother man had to get in on the action as well :) he was also invited to tag along....
eat . them . up!!

everything....from balloons to candles to napkins.....was cowgirl couture....so cute!! and there were lots of fun activities planned...

here's the sweet birthday girl....
...too cute cupcakes....and the girls enjoying their snack!!

brother man enjoyed himself too....munching on sissy's left over apple ~ kind of hard to bob for apples with no front teeth!!

i tell you what, my kiddos have been to some SUPER cute parties lately....i am thinking i am going to have to step it up a notch in june!!

carving one up....

sunday was busy, busy.....punkin' carving, birthday partyin' & care groupin'....what a great day!! the kids were beyond ready to get their carving on, so why not!?!
daddy got 'em started.....and they dug in!!...well, sissy immediately dug in....brother man had to warm up to the gooey insides, he chose the spoon first!

their faces were hilarious!! miss priss is getting really good at gutting a pumpkin.....big man, you know all rough & tough boy, is still not too sure about it....i think he would much rather use a spoon than his hands!

yup, i even got to get in on the action! had to get all the seeds to roast later....yummy :)

then it came time for carving the faces.....we are pretty traditional, no fancy kits for carving.....though i must say the choice of *tools* for carving were quite amusing....

i mean seriously.....who uses a hammer when carving a pumpkin?!?! but that's how my hubby rolls :)
sis wanted crazy eyes & big teeth....brother wanted two different size eyes.....oh, and though you can't see them, our pumpkins have ears!....again, that's just how my hubby rolls :)
and they named them.....crazy caroline & knucklehead nicholas....i think they turned out pretty cute :)

randomness on a saturday....

this past saturday was another beautiful fall day!!.....went spent a good majority of the day outside until we went to watch the Blazers play football.....
....this is such a great pic of my hubby....and so typical of him, relaxed & chilled out :)
sis decided to fashion her self a sling shot.....one old scrunchie & one good stick!

the kids, as all, had a few moments of sweet preciousness throughout the day.....of course, they would quickly make up for all the sweetness with some good ol' sibling rivalry!
....i choose to remember the day with these pics :)

soon after these pics, big man battered his sister's knee with a croquet mallet.....nice, real nice....i mean honestly?!?! she is going to have a bruise for a long time from that one....BOYS!!

we were missing our sweet friends the lingerfelts who were supposed to visit, poor grey got a yucky virus!! so glad he is feeling better :).....but the afternoon was completed by a surprise visit from mimi & pops...the kids were quite excited!

fall decor....

so, it dawned on me this weekend and again after looking at this post....i really needed to update my front door for the fall....i have used this southern living at home piece on my front door for years!...but to me it is a beautiful, classic piece that i can easily change up for every season...
i added my Boo! sign for halloween and even branched out a bit with a few turkeys to take it through thanksgiving...i love the end result!
and because i unfortunately have a little free time on my hands (work is WAY too slow right now!!) i decided to get a little funky with one of our pumpkins....

can you say glitter glue?!?!

there was no way we were carving all four pumpkins from the farm so why not *dazzle* one up a little :) miss priss has to turn her pumpkin into a book character for school....yeah, that should be interesting! thank goodness we love Fancy Nancy in this house....pics from that next week :)
