more captain of the week...

another chore fun task of captain of the week is to do a scrapbook page....seriously, scrapbook??!?! i have never created a scrapbook page in my life....there is a real good reason i never jumped on that bandwagon ~ her name is OCD! i am way too detail oriented, everything has to be just so, to scrapbook....but all that aside, i put my big girl panties on a dealt with this *task* as best i could....yikes!...there were some really top notch pages before ours....ugh...but at least it gave me some courage....
i don't think it turned out too shabby.....for my first attempt at least!.....i *medicated* my ocd ~ lots of coffee & diet coke ~ and tried to be a bit creative....miss priss loved it and i guess in the end that's all that really matters!
oh and i will have you all know....no, i was not doing my daughter's homework....they strongly encouraged the parents mothers to be very involved with this project.....so, nah!

another part of this week was for the parents to send in a letter about the child to class....the teacher reads the letter aloud....you were able to be as creative as you like....tell a story, write a poem, send in silly pics, whatever....i chose to write a short fairytale....ahhh, writing...i can handle this :)

now that was a bit more fun!....still to go is a favorite book of sissy's with a snack to share for the class....she suggested a mix of goldfish, m&m's and crunched up cookies....that doesn't sound too bad :)

captain of the week...

miss priss found out friday that it was her turn to be captain of the week! she was able to bring home Rex, the class mascot....they had a lot of fun bonding this weekend....she also has several other *fun* things to do throughout the week....well, let me say, WE have several things to do....that's a post for another day....one word - scrapbook....one more - OCD....guess what?? they don't mix...anyhoo, for now, a little peek at our weekend with rex....
friday night we enjoyed some yummy food and desserts from the greek festival.....rex helped sis with her baklava :)
of course, they had to snuggle up together both nights to sleep...
saturday was a full day of football & fun!! we decked rex out in some blazer gear so he could help us cheer on UAB....oh those boys were so close to upsetting tennessee!!....on a side note, if anyone knows of a half-way decent kicker please send them to UAB, we are in desperate need....ugh!
then of course, he had to watch sissy get her nails painted....i'm sure he wasn't too excited about that part :) on sunday we went to church ~ with no power during the service and then headed home for a family game day....
it was a fun low key weekend but a nice change from the norm.....now to get set for another school week and for me miss priss to finish up the rest of her captain of the week stuff....hmmm, wonder what her yummy snack treat should be for wednesday??? well seeing as we are feeding 41...something easy, but a nice treat....i'm thinking powdered donuts :)

blackout the brookies...

thursday was another home game day for the lancers....and that meant another pep rally! as you can tell the theme was to blackout the brookies, i.e. Mt. Brook...
the girls love pep rally days too! they get checked out 15 minutes early to go cheer on their family members...and who doesn't love a good dance routine, fight song & cheer!

daddy, all decked out in black, doing his best to get everyone pumped up for the game!!
after the pep rally we went to art and then headed over to the game....a quick run through mickey d's drive thru for our game night meal and we were all set to watch the lancers take on the spartans...
how stinkin' cute are they?!?

and of course, it's not a game without awesome friends! the kids really had a great time dancing, cheering & yelling for the lancers!
there's daddy....doing his best to get the lancers ready for a victory!....though we didn't quite make it this week, we were so close....we'll get 'em next week :)

hit the motherload....

hog heaven....mothership calling me home...overwhelmed....in awe...

those were all words i would use to describe myself yesterday when i walked into a hot, stuffy warehouse to find shelves, upon shelves of top quality stationary....for dirt cheap!

the pics in this post do no justice to the amount and quality of this score....i mean wow...and do you want to know the really, really best part???....ALL of this that you see for TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS...yup, 25 buckaroos :) i did go ahead and buy some envelopes ~ 200 for $20!! ~ for the christmas cards i will be making....so family & friends, be prepared, you maybe seeing some of this again....custom made calling cards, stickers, thank you notes, luggage tags, etc....i'm in heaven!
seriously, just looking at these pics makes me giddy all over again!

fun-filled weekend....

we started this awesome weekend by participating in the Head Over Teal 5K to support ovarian cancer research and this great foundation...go here to learn more about it!
and seeing as i was running walking/jogging the race i didn't have my camera....oh darn, no pics of me all gross & sweaty :)

after the race & a quick shower, we headed up to chuy's to celebrate this cutie-patootie's birthday....
happy, happy birthday isabella!
the kids loved this great tex-mex restaurant...as did the adults! if you are in town, check it out....
and for the birthday girl.....a birthday sopapilla....yum-o!
lovin' on grams...
...sweet cousins!

we had to take advantage of the beautiful view for a couple of pics...
we went back to our house for a few minutes for isabella to open her presents....and as you can probably tell from the above pic there was more in store for the day...
she was pretty excited to say the least :)
the boys decided to get a few *plays* in...
and then we were off.....to watch the *big boys* play ball.....GO BLAZERS!!

as we walked into the stadium we saw this adorable jersey big man has on.....so excited, his from last year was way too small....we are trying to get one more year out of sissy's cheerleading outfit too :) these kids grow too dang fast!
of course we had to hunt Blaze down for a pic...
my blazer babes...
big man was hollering at the players just like us! the second half was quite intense....actually just the last 5 mins!....in a last ditch hail mary effort, the blazers pulled out a win against the troy trojans!!
two happy guys!!
sunday was spent worshipping....hanging low...and getting ready for yet another crazy school week!
