simple summer fun....

....with the kid's new slip-n-slide!!

what better way to spend the weekend than slipping and sliding....so fun :) though their daddy had just cut the grass so it didn't take long before they were covered in grass!

brother's turn.....he finally started getting the hang of it....though he was easily distracted by the water!

brother got a bit tired of running back and forth so he decided to just stay in the *pool* part at the end.....well, to his sissy he was a sitting duck and took every chance to run him over & pile up!...they loved it and just kept giggling & giggling :)

all done!! time to get hosed off from all the grass...good times had by all :)

...visit to pepper place saturday morning!

everything was so scrumptous looking!!.... the sourdough bread inspired me to make homemade french toast sunday morning....it was so good!! and these purple beauties were another inspiration....

....i did this last summer too....here is the post with recipe info....it is well worth a try! we were lucky to have some sweet friends over to enjoy it too.....cooking is absolutely a *therapy* of mine and being able to share it with others is such a great feeling...

now, i am not really sure what my hubby has planned for all those jalepenos but we shall see!! right now we have been adding them to queso dip :)

high seas expedition....

AHOY!! this past week was our church's VBS and the kids set sail on a high seas expedition....it was a great experience! i was even able to volunteer a couple of days this year which i really loved....thursday night was the family night & picnic....

after the yummy chik-fil-a dinner we headed inside for the kids program.....they sang some awesome songs, danced & had a great message! little brother had to get in on the action too :) sis was so lucky to have one of her sweet friends with her all week....good times!

....big man's 3rd birthday!! i must say, he was much more low key than his sissy....but give him a few more years and he will catch on :)

he started the morning with muffins he helped bake with his mimi saturday morning....well that was easy!

after we got sissy settled in at vacation bible school, the rest of the family went car shopping....no, the child did not get a new car for his birthday! but his momma did :) ....and that's a story for another day....then, we headed back to vbs to pick up sissy and it was time for a lunch of brother's choice....

his request...chicken & fries....translation ~ a happy meal!....again, that was way too easy :)

back to the car dealer to finish up a few odds and ends...then more treats!....i promise we did more than eat the first part of the day but that is all i have pics of!!....so, for the sake of continuity ~ pics of our ice cream treat!! the kids were super excited about this part...such a fun little sweet shop :)

back home for a quick change and off to the firestation!! this was the quietest brother man was all day ~ he was truly in awe and overwhelmed....he loved it!! the guys were awesome with us...they let the kids sit in the fire engine, try on the hats and gave them the grand tour...priceless!!

home for present time....big man couldn't wait another second!

a john deere lawn mower and weed eater....he was in heaven!!....and i think sissy likes them too :) we played around the house a little while, had a yummy dinner at la dama and then finished off the day with cake of course! his request was a football cake....um yeah, those are a little hard to come by this time of year...some how we did manage to find a basketball cake and he was quite happy with it....

told ya he liked it!! look at him....wild man!
