yum-o...

while making my weekly wednesday trip to target (my husband told me today i am so predictable, every wednesday ~ which is my off day usually ~ i go to two places, target and publix...and he's right!).....i spotted this new snack...wow, it is so GOOD!! and it is pretty healthy too for a bagged snack....to top it all off, they are on sale for $3 for a box of 5....not too shabby....they come in three delicious flavors, today i tried cranberry almond....next week i'll get another one :)

i think the back of the box says it best...

....audrey hasn't tried them yet but i am sure she will like them too! of course, you know grant will like it :) here is one thing that my kids do love to snack on....

...and this big bag was also on sale for $3! i love a good deal and a sale :)

chalk art...

my child has a love of art that is unbelievable.... she is not picky about her medium either....drawing, painting, chalk, markers, crayons, WHATEVER.... this child has a creative streak a mile long.....and i hope it NEVER ENDS!! i love doing things crafty & artsy myself, but i never get a chance to devote the time and attention to it that it deserves.....hopefully, audrey will be able to continue pursuing her 4 1/2 year old passions for a long time....recently it was chalk...and nope, we could not contain our self to the sidewalk.....the bricks looked like a much more interesting palate.....gotta love it!

oh grant....he just kept on trying to mess up sissy's drawings.....the life of a little brother!

and another good one...

we honestly didn't think we could have another day as good as yesterday but we did!

we had a wonderful morning at church (check us out in the monthly newsletter, new members page) and then went to lunch and target.....once home we enjoyed the beautiful weather outside all afternoon until dinner....

our front yard is full of clover!! which grows extremely fast.....brett is not going to catch a break this summer! he just cut the grass a week ago and you can tell from the pics below it already needs to be cut again....brett is rebelling until next weekend which worked out nice, the kids enjoyed "picking flowers" for me :)

while the kids played brett took to working on the house and putting out pinestraw....when the pest guy was here a few weeks ago we noticed a few other, non-pest related things, that needed to be fixed.... amazing what you notice when you walk around with another set of eyes on your house....we have absolutely loved our quirky little house but we have come to the realization that, while everything looks great and updated, it may not have all been fixed up correctly....live and learn...brett has a constant to-do list, but in a strange way i think he enjoys working on his house :)
and while brett worked outside and the kids played i did a little laundry, got things together for the week and then sat in my rocker on the front porch and enjoyed a tall glass of ice coffee....yummy.....i realized saturday morning at audrey's ball game that if i am going to enjoy coffee after 9am now, it is going to have to be in the ice form :)

as a sweet surprise to end the day brett and the kids washed & vacuumed the cars....so nice!!

good day...

today was a great saturday and true enjoyment of a beautiful day.....after audrey's softball game this morning ~ where she got TWO awesome hits! ~ audrey, grammy & i headed to lunch and a little shopping.....daddy and grant headed back to the house for their lunch and naps....though i think just grant napped :)

when the ladies got back, mom headed to wetu and audrey & i headed outside.....she wanted to practice riding her bike ~ she has had this bike since she was three and basically just now got comfortable with it....and now she probably needs a bigger one, oh well! audrey is so cautious about getting too close to the road, so she had me draw her a line and a stop sign....i need to enjoy this because i will probably have to put up a net at the end of the drive to catch grant when he starts riding!!

grant finally woke up from his nap and joined his sissy outside.....just look at this handsome man!!! i love him in a ball cap!! too cute! i'm just a little proud :)

then the kids headed out for a ride ~ visions of my life in 11 years!!

sprinkles...

after riding bikes & driving jeeps, i decided it was quite warm enough to break out the sprinklers.....the kids had a blast!! grant just squealed and giggled.....i am realizing that lots of things are like new to grant.....he doesn't remember the sprinklers from last year, nor will he probably remember the pool, beach, etc....either way it is fun seeing his expressions :)

they were muddy, soppin' wet babes when they got done! it was awesome and brett & i enjoyed so much just being able to sit on the back deck and watch them having so much fun.....we don't get chances like that often to just sit and relax and watch our two beautiful blessings enjoy the simpler things in life....

snack time...

....every afternoon, as soon as we walk in the house grant immediately runs to his seat ~ "nack, nack!!"....and every afternoon we have snack, we are so ritualistic :) ....audrey, a.k.a little momma, has gotten into the routine of dishing out the snack....as i am putting up all the things from the day ~ lunch boxes, backbags, napmat, etc. she takes control.....i just laugh as i listen to her and grant go back and forth....

g - "nack! nack!"
a - "hold on grant! climb in your seat."
g - "nack, NACK!!"
a - "HOLD ON GRANT, you have to be patient" ~ ahh, you think she's heard that :)
g - "nack, pease!"
a - "ugh,*big huff*, you have to wait! good manners though." ~ always the teacher and the momma :)

this particular day she was trying out some new fruit chews with their snack....well, actually her momma found them on sale at target for next to nothing & as far as i am concerned a fruit chew is a fruit chew....but i guess we know why they were on sale ~
she hated them....actually her word was disgusting ~ ya know that's a fancy word for gross! and as you can now tell, we love some Fancy Nancy at our house :) as a matter of fact we just got done reading the newest book ~ Explorer Extraordinaire ~ too cute!
so what do you do when you have something yucky in your bowl you don't want to eat? give it to your little brother! as audrey likes to refer to him ~ mikey...."give it to mikey, he'll eat anything." again, her comment.....so funny how observant she is and how she remembers EVERYTHING!! we may have said that once about grant and she never forgot it.....now she says it all the time....either referring to her brother or her daddy!

and as always, mikey did eat 'em and all his snack too!! that boy is not going to miss a meal ~ for sure!!

i am not sure if this picture says.....

"oh, i feel a little sick....think i ate too much!"

or

"mommy, PLEASE stop taking pictures of me ALL THE TIME!"

for my own sake.....i am going with the first one :)

two adorable models + awesome digital camera = mommy's new obsession!

almost over...

as we enjoy the beautiful afternoons playing outside it is so hard for me to believe that this school year is almost over....audrey's last year of preschool, almost over....then, in june she will be five and grant two (that's a whole other issue!) and in august - Kindergarten! wow...where does the time go?? i cherish each moment because once she gets in "big school" i know it is going to fly by.....five, very short, years ago i was preparing for her birth ~ this summer i will be preparing her to thrive in her new school....unbelievable....

living it up on the playset.....basking in the sun of a gorgeous spring day....not a care in the world....ahhhh, must be nice :)

while the kids were playing and i was photographing yesterday...brett was working....poor thing...getting the bushes ready for some fresh pinestraw.... whoohoo! though we probably wouldn't be so diligent about our landscaping but a few weeks ago we were visited by several hundred flying pesks ~ termites!! oh the joys.....we have poked, prodded, treated, retreated and taken care of this horrible issue....now we are making sure we are not leaving anymore "bait" for the monsters outside ~ like woodchips, siding too close to the ground, etc....the pest people are so whatever about this whole thing...."yup, those are termites. we'll fix it and treat 'em."
no. big. deal.
WHATEVER!!
I don't do bugs!!
they are disgusting in each and every form, with the exception of lady bugs and rolypolies :) i wanted so badly to say..."next time you come for surgery and we are about to slice open your abdomen, it'll be no big deal!" see, i don't freak out about surgery, blood and guts and they don't freak out about bugs ~ to each their own!
