traditions....

we completed another one of our christmas traditions this weekend, christmas on the coosa....i have personally been attending this event for about 25 years, probably only missing 2-3 in all those years....

it is your basic small town christmas ~ arts & crafts, parade, church/vendor food stations, etc... i absolutely love it and now my children do as well....grant waved and yelled hi to all the parade folks and audrey enjoyed herself too ~ minus loud noises, animals & dressed up characters :)

we were so lucky to have the company of all alabama nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and grams.... of course, it is always like a little reunion too....catching up with people we haven't seen since last ContheC!.....

small town christmas....

we are headed to my mom's this weekend for a little small town christmas....the annual christmas on the coosa parade, arts & crafts, good ol' food, etc....

well, here it is, the list of destruct-o maniac's most recent disasters...

1. bobble head rudolph is less one antler

2. the balloons on my christmas village car are deflated

3. my SLAH versatile vase, a.k.a the m&m holder, is shattered

our little gymnast...

last night was audrey's last gymnastics class for this session......our little shawn johnson was GREAT! she really loves gymnastics....i feel we may continue to pursue this for a while....but our next extracurricular class will be art lessons, we think.....art and gymnastics, a few of audrey's favorite things...

yesterday was quite a mild day around here (today was even better!) so we opted for afternoon snacks outside....we have loved this picinic table and use it quite often! audrey loves her pistachios and grant eats "crunchies" like a mad man....

ok, found this website for a little christmas humor....tookie i know, but cute :) funny thing is that i LOVE a good fluffernutter sandwich - yum-o!! ironic how that was chosen for my name....also, grant & pixie in the same breath?!?! what an oxymoron!! i hope everyone has a great week....

we went over to georgia this weekend for charlie's 3rd birthday and to see the pink pig ~ well, we struck out with the pink pig....

the line was OUTRAGEOUS!!! we have gone for the past three years on a wednesday late afternoon and had absolutely no problems....well, saturday afternoons are ridiculous!! who knew?!?!? there were at least, no lie, 150 people in line....guess i should have realized it but i had no idea.....so, like any good parents, we told audrey that priscilla wasn't feeling too well and was a little broke at the moment....fibs, fibs, fibs....but what else do you do?!?! i took this pic from the car window....it is what it is...we will try again in a few weeks....

at this point we are sad & depressed that there will be no pink pig today....we immediately thought of another atlanta tradition that would cheer us up ~ the varsity!

yum-o....nothing like good greasy food to make you feel better....

naked dogs, PC, fries, rings, cheeseburgers, FO, fried apple pie.....can't beat that :)

our elf....

he is our elf.

he lives on our shelves.

every night he leaves our house and goes to see the jolly big man.

then he comes back, to a new spot in our house ~ we hope.

unless the two slacker parents at his new home forget to move him to a new spot.

audrey - "mommmm, zart didn't move last night?!?!"

me - "oh of course he did, he just loved that spot so much - he came back!"

a - "ok" ~ this does not sound very convincing.....

m - "i'm sure tomorrow he will find a new spot, right honey (as i exclaim to my hubby) ?!?!"

brett - "yes, dear."

the tales of two slacker parents at christmas time.....we try, we really do......thank you again aunt cici for the gift of our very own Elf on the Shelf :) we hope to do better and live up it to the challenge.....

seriously...do you see that little widget thingy over there <<< ?!!? see how many days it says are left?!?!? that can't be right! oh but it is, it is.....weren't we just starting back to school, dressing up for halloween and eating turkey??? where, oh where, has the time gone!

ok. mental breakdown over....the house is decorated (pics later) and the gifts are beginning to be bought.....no, i am not done and if one more person tells me they are.....well, let's just say you'll get my christmas tree the same place my angel on top of my tree did!!!

a bit testy this morning you say??!? yes, my sinuses/allergies/cold/whatever are aggravating me, the cutest little MONSTER was in my bed all night, i didn't get much sleep and i would LOVE to know if i am actually going to be able to monetarily contribute to my family this week!!!! breathe, woman, breathe.....god has a plan, god has a plan, god has a plan - can you tell i am trying desperately to make myself feel better???
