marvelous mom day...

i had a great mother's day today! we started off the day at church with grams & my sister and her family....we've always loved my sister's church, so it was nice to be able to visit again...afterwards we headed to lisa's house for lunch, good times and a quick dip in the pool! the men braved the cold and jumped in with the kiddos.....grant chose napping over swimming, can't say i blame him :)

as i was sorting through all the pics from this fun-filled weekend - all 486 of them! - i realized how very, very blessed i am....truly, truly blessed :)

we got our crayon!!

the school where audrey will be going to kindergarten in august gives all the new students a crayon and invite to welcome them to their new school......so cute!!! audrey's got delivered to her daddy today....she was so excited when she got it this afternoon....i want to put it on the mailbox but every time i tried it would start pouring....maybe i'll get it out there tomorrow....i think i am just as excited, if not more, as audrey!

i still can not believe she is about to start kindergarten!!! WOW!

new stuff....

sunday after church we headed over to the "big mall", as audrey refers to it, for lunch and a carousel ride......grant squealed and laughed the whole time! audrey kept saying she wanted to ride the cowpig.....i was not understanding her at all.....finally she said, "look mom the cowpig!" ......it was a black and white pig with spots like a dairy cow :) oh my child!!!

after the carousel we headed down to macy's to see if anything looked good with our friends and family coupon....well, of course it ALL looked good....but we didn't really need much....a set of new pjs for the kids, a new shirt for grant & dress for audrey and ......drum roll please.....big boy undies for grant!! (audrey got some undies too, not quite as big of a deal) we are going to start trying a little better this summer with his potty training....but are not going to push it, nice and slow or whatever it takes for this little boy! audrey was soooo easy, one week flat and done! i obviously have never potty trained a boy so i don't know if it will be as smooth.....we shall see :)

after macy's we stopped by for cookies and then the fun really began....we got locked down in belk's shoe department while we were under a tornado warning....thank goodness for those cookies!!! everything was fine and we headed home about 30 minutes later.....to a house with no power......life is so funny!

later on audrey was snacking on some cereal, watching a movie and fell asleep in the cereal box! it wasn't even that late but she was worn out from the weekend :)

last game...

we dealt with the rainy weather and had audrey's last softball game this morning....it rained on and off but not enough to ruin the fun!

audrey had an absolutely great game! perfect end to a fun season.....stats from her dad ~ she went 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs and 2 runs...well then, doesn't that sound fancy :) whatever she did, she had fun....fielding needs improvement, but hey that's next year! of course, she is already thinking of all the other stuff she wants to try as well.....we won't be bored that's for sure :)

audrey also had three awesome surprises at her game too! Miss Nicole & Miss Natalie ~ her teachers from school ~ came to watch her play (so sweet!!) and her Pops drove over this morning to see her too! she was quite proud and excited!

pizza party...

tonight audrey had her last softball practice of the season followed by her team party....a pizza party at yankee pizzeria....yum-o! pizza was great, it just got a bit late for grant and he was worn out! tomorrow, pending no rain, is her last game :)

audrey really enjoyed playing her first year of softball....we were a little unsure at first but she got used to it and had a blast.....she has the best attitude and is always happy when playing....she doesn't get upset if she strikes out or gets called out at the base.....she just smiles and moves along....i wish i was as calm and laid back as her :) her hitting has improved greatly and she is getting better throwing and stopping the ball....next year we will have to work on actually reacting when the ball is hit and not expecting it to roll into her glove! we wouldn't want to cram too much into this first year :) audrey was so glad to make so many new friends too....especially miss kylie....and i think grant has a crush on her beautiful little sister lucie!
