birthday fun, part one...

....and oh the fun we had!!...
sissy had lots on her agenda for her sixth birthday :) ...first up, chocolate chip pancakes...the kids had a blast *helping* us cook too!

my sweet birthday girl....enjoying her birthday breakfast!!....i think brother was quite happy with his sissy's choice too....it was the quitest he was all day!

after devouring our breakfast we played around the house a little and then got ready for our next adventure....painting pottery!!....my little artist was so excited about this, she LOVES any chance to paint and be creative...
miss priss chose a trinket box & big man chose a monster truck....now comes the fun ~ painting!! poor brett was having OCD issues with brother at first....i kept hearing "don't mix the paint!!"....finally he gave in and let him have some *freedom* with his painting :)

the kids really enjoyed this! .... the sweet lady that worked there even snapped a family pic for us :) i can't wait to see their pottery next week after it is fired....i think brother's looks kinda neat, like it's camo! and yes, i had to get in on the action too.....i couldn't pass up an opportunity to paint something!

good times!!....now, part two...

birthday fun, part two...

....we worked up an appetite painting pottery so lunch was next on the agenda....the birthday girl said she wanted sushi for lunch, and i couldn't have been happier....yummy!!!
she insisted we sit at the actual sushi bar so she could watch them make it....unfortunatley the kids couldn't see much but they loved it anyway!
brother decided his chopsticks made really good drumsticks....hilarious!...so glad we went for lunch, they may not have been so patient with us at dinner :)
sissy ordered a california roll, myself the spicy shrimp roll, brother the sweet & sour chicken and daddy had his favorite thai bbq chicken....everything was great as usual!!
....miss priss did so great with her chopsticks....i was quite proud of her....she did eventually give up the roll and shared her brother's chicken...we were all loving the edamame too!! i am so glad that our kids love *good* food....though, i did ask brother what he wanted for his birthday lunch and he said "chicken & fries" which translates into a happy meal :) .... oh well, gotta throw some good ol' mickey d's in there too!
after a quick trip to target and then whole foods for sis to pick out her birthday cake we headed home to drop off the boys....the ladies went back out to choose some new earrings for miss priss!! it was worked out perfectly that it was now time to change out her earrings....she, i mean WE, had so much fun picking out her new earrings....we got home and there was a surprise for the birthday girl...thanks pops & mimi!
ready to change out her earrings!!!

and what did she choose for her first new pair?!?!.....the puzzle pieces of course :) now i must say it had been a great day and fairly *drama free*...well until it came time to take out her original earrings....ugh...the back would not come off!!....i tugged, i twisted, i tugged & twisted at the same time...nothing, not a budge...UGH...i was so emphatically told from the ladies at Claire's that you just have to pull hard...duh, tried that!!...needless to say brett got out the wire cutters and we found our own way to get those dang earrings out....ridiculous!!..

after we ALL settled down from the drama of changing out the earrings, we enjoyed a dinner of grilled burgers & dogs and then this scrumptous cake....whole foods have the cutest little cakes....they are perfect for our little family of four celebration....and they are quite reasonably priced, love it!...

thank you self-timer for the family photo ops!

sweet girl!! .... next, present time! .... though brother couldn't stop eating long enough to really watch...but could ya blame him with that cake staring at you!?!?!....we did get an excited *hooray sissy !* out of him at the end :)

sissy was quite happy with her gift....she loves her ipod but would rather not have to always use the earbuds....best of both worlds because brother is always wanting to listen too!...

amazing day, amazing young lady....i am so, so proud to call her my daughter...i still can't believe that she is six years old and going into first grade!!

we love you sweet girl!!

happy happy day.....

SIX ~ yes six! ~ years ago this precious baby girl entered our lives.....

this morning as i cuddled up in the bed with her, re-telling her the story of the wee early morning she was born, i was overwhelmed with how FAST the past six years have flown by....unbelievable!!

this is her on her 1st birthday.....and you know there will be a ton from today! she has a fun-filled day for us....we have already started the morning off with chocolate chip pancakes!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET GIRL!
