as i said in an earlier post, this weekend brought lots of fun and one great surprise....our new playset....though it took brett a few days, he is finally done!! it was hardwork putting it together all by himself...but it is finished :)
what an awesome daddy!!!
the kids put on their best "yard clothes" and headed out to play until almost dark.....lots of springtime fun is ahead...
after seeing this awesome ladies' camera strap on saturday, i just knew i had to have mine personalized as well...she is right, so many of us have one of these awesome cameras, only fitting to personalize it a bit....it can get a little confusing at the local ballpark or birthday party :) thanks again julie!!
yesterday afternoon we went to watch theUAB Blazer Softball team take on the Alabama Crimson Tide Softball team....they fell to the Tide 6-3 but it was a great game! we are definitely going to more games ~ it is free to get in and audrey loved watching the big girls (figuratively and not) play ball.....she was in awe at first and asking tons of questions...she couldn't believe how fast the ball was pitched! her mommy and daddy were in awe a little too.....it has been a long time since i've been to a real softball game ~ i loved it as much as audrey:)
they were celebrating breast cancer awareness so we got pink shakers and a new pink uab t-shirt.....audrey also got to visit with some girls on a travel ball team.....tristan's mommy works with brett....too cute.....they said she could be their little sis and bat girl at some of their games...that would be fun!! grant was a good sport but only made it through two innings....brett kept him occupied while audrey and i watched for a few more innings....before we knew it bed time was upon us and grant was more than ready to go!
we had a great visit with mimi and pops this weekend....the kids literally tackled pops as soon as he got here....they also left us with a wonderful present ~ a new swing set!! Yeah :) audrey said, "daddy, get to work - i wanna be swinging by spring break!" well, we will see.....hopefully so...these things do take a few days to put together....a few pics from the weeekend...
today was audrey's first softball game....she had a great time!! her team is the detriot tigers ~ no, the red sox were not available :)
audrey was so excited about her family being in town for the game too! mimi came over last night and grams, aunt lisa, isabella and olivia drove up this morning....fun, fun! grant entertained himself playing in the rocks and watching his sissy...soon he will be playing, time goes by too fast.
i think it was absolutely killing brett that he was not on the field coaching....he paced, stood by the fence and "coached" from the bleachers....he never sat down....too funny....of course, i'm not much better :) we feel the girls should be praised but taught at the same time....good mechanics and correct skills are key at this age to develop good habits....yes, i know it is a 6 & under league ~ but they gotta learn somewhere....
below is a slideshow from the game....i couldn't narrow it down :)and just to think last weekend it was snowing!!!!!!!!!!oh, and if you notice her jersey, they are getting it fixed.....she was audry for the game, hopefully by next week she will be audrey :)
it's not quite as big as THE central park but homewood's central park is quite nice....this glorious park was busting at the seams yesterday! after art class, brett met us with grant for some playtime and ball practice....we played and then practiced....grant was a great little ball boy, fetching the balls for his sissy...hard to believe we were just building snowmen! even crazier....it is supposed to be 75 degrees saturday!! perfect for audrey's opening day of softball :)for those of you who didn't see the post before this one....audrey's hair-do is from wacky day at school!
