Happy Happy Birthday to My Sweet, Precious, Handsome, Full-Speed, All-Boy & Amazing Son......

big boy...

yup, that is my sweet, precious, ALL BOY, baby boy getting ready to go to "school" with his sissy!! oh my goodness he looked so big this morning (he got a haircut monday too!)......grant will be starting mitchell's place officially in august but brett has a workshop wednesday - friday this week & i had ACLS and work myself so we needed a spot for big man to go.....

let me skip back a week & a half.....we pulled grant out of his daycare he had been at since january.....and yes that was his 2nd daycare since we have been back in b'ham.....you know there are a few things to be relaxed about and go-with-the-flow about but my children's childcare is just not one of them....we were SPOILED ROTTEN by our daycare in georgia....i mean, i knew those guys were great and i knew what a wonderful job they did...but man, until you leave a good thing you never really know how GREAT it was....i have not been happy with either of our choices for grant's daycare and knew that as soon as he turned two he would be able to attend mitchell's place....so we held out, made do, prayed & finally when brett got out of school for the summer we decided to let him stay home with daddy.....yeah!! all that being said, he is getting a sneak peek at MP this week....oh and talk about being spoiled, mitchell's place has been phenomenal with audrey!! we haven't had to worry about or have one issue with them... we can't wait for grant to be an official student.....i will be so at ease with grant there everyday!!

the kids have been thoroughly enjoying their new toys & crafts......just a few pics of them playing with a few of their new things.....they were really blessed at their party and got lots & lots of great stuff!.....when grandma gert was here she gave grant a new BoSox shirt....we love it!! and it was quite appropriate that it was david ortiz's, i.e Big Papi, number!!

we are off to georgia this weekend to spend father's day at the cabin with brett's family....lots of fishing, swimming, boat riding & laying out!! sunday is a big day ~ father's day, official first day of summer & grant's actual birthday!! wow....we shall have fun!

the party...

the kids had an absolutely adorable, amazing, awesome party yesterday!! seeing as they both have june birthdays we thought we would try a dual party ~ great idea! i hope we can do this for a few more years :)

as i have stated in previous posts, mcwane science center was our choice this year....and what a great choice it was seeing as it was a yucky rainy day!! i would have totally stressed out if i thought everyone would be stuck in my itty-bitty house....but no need, mcwane was perfect....we had a little presentation about ocean animals first....the kids seemed really interested....the last animal, horseshoe crab, was a little bigger & not everyone was too thrilled about touching him...

after the animals were goldfish, juice boxes, cake & ice cream.....every mother's dream ~ i didn't have to clean-up one thing!! once we got all sugared-up we headed out to play.....so fun!!

we are so grateful & so very thankful for everyone who came to the party and those who couldn't do to their duties or sickness....we really appreciate it and we are so truly honored to have you all as friends & family.....thank you, thank you for loving my children so much and being oh so good to us!!! i can't even begin to express our gratitude for all the gifts....it looked like christmas morning in our living room....you all are amazing....we love you!!

R.O.C.K. & Getting Ready...

last week our local library outreach, R.O.C.K. in Liberty Park, hosted one of many family fun nights and programs at LPMS....we don't live in liberty park but it is closer to us than the regular vestavia library.....plus with brett teaching there and audrey starting school there in august we definitely have a vested interest :)


McWane Center presented the program that night.....we love mcwane and were quite excited....the presenter did a great job with all the chemical reactions....really neat....grant did very well for a two year old and sat with his sissy for about 30 mins....audrey loved everything except the popping balloons ~ can't say i blame her :) the pics aren't that great but you get the gist....

now we are getting ready for our very own mcwane adventure......their birthday party this saturday at mcwane!!! and to top it all off.....my mom is giving us a year family membership as part of their birthday present.....whooohooo!! that will be awesome on those 100 degree alabama summer days.....
