our little cheerleader....

my niece olivia has found her niche........ cheerleading......wow, she is great!! she isn't old enough to be on the youngest squad for the prattville lions youth league, but she is able to be the mascot.....mascot, smatsnot ~ she rocks! she knows all the cheers & all the motions....too cute! we were so excited to be able to watch her cheer this weekend.......go olivia go!!

fun run....

today was audrey's very first school fundraiser..... the booster-thon fun run......and man, did they ever have fun!!! audrey did a great job and ran all 35 of her laps....whooohoo!!.....she was able to win lots of prizes thanks to all the wonderful family she has.....thanks again for all the pledges!!!

seeing as i had committed the day to be at the school......what better than good ol' school lunch with my sweet girl?!?! i had already been told quite often that lots of mommies had already been up to eat lunch......guilt trip at it's finest.....well, today was my day :)

after lunch comes recess.....the nurse in me thinks that is not such a great idea.....but hey, they would have to clean up the vomit not me ~ anymore :)

summit sunday....

for those of you who know my husband, saying he was frugal would be an understatement....we've just drank the dave ramsey kool-aid & have also enrolled in his financial peace university.....so far so good, mostly the obvious stuff at this point....i also am known to be thrifty at times....i love a good sale & hardly ever grocery shop without coupons....we do pretty well eating at home most meals......we are trying to be good, but we are human.....and, well - i'm female - so ya know that quick trip to target can get a bit pricey at times :) anyhoo, all that being said to tell you about our freebie day.....

it has been fashion weekend at the summit.....today was kid's day.....and was it ever!! after church & a quick lunch at the house we headed up to the summit.....we started at barnes & nobles with fancy nancy story time....*awesome*....the kids were also able to make a beautiful bonjour butterfly.....grant enjoyed the train table much more than the story but he did make it back for craft time :)

next on our trail of fun was old navy for face painting.....a butterfly for fancy audrey & a football for big man.....oh and man did they have some cute stuff!!....i told brett we needed to leave quickly or it could get ugly :) see, human & female.....and i may just have to sneak back over there this week!

stop #3.....zoe's.....they were letting the kids paint pics that will decorate the store.....they switch out the kid artwork periodically in the restaurant and the artwork from today will be displayed for a while.....well, audrey's will ~ brett and i aren't too sure about grant's :) hey, that's two-year-old art for ya!

and to finish our little adventure......ice cream....i was told last week about the free ice cream at bruster's & seeing as there is one literally a minute from our house, we couldn't refuse! the deal is you have to be under 40" and you get a free small cone, no purchase necessary.....sweet!....but really, who could go and not purchase?!?! so brett & i split something......fudgie cheescake icecream.... un.be.liev.able......

so that was our day of free family fun.....well, $3.13 family fun.....we did buy the adults ice cream! i hope all of you had a great weekend as well.....on to a *typical* crazy week for us :)

saturday we dressed out in our blazer best and headed to legion field to watch & cheer for our uab blazers....this was grant's first blazer game too!
we stopped by the best place in town to get some good ol' chicken wings.....yummy! brett & i found this place when we were in college....their wings are so good & big.....the best places are holes in the wall ~ this one is no exception....
after a little tailgaiting & playing in blazer village we headed in for some football!!

somehow we ended up sitting behind the offensive line.....imagine that! :) the blazers ended up playing a good game but just not good enough......they fell to SMU by two-points......we'll get 'em next time!

audrey & blaze....grant wanted NOTHING to do with the big green guy....maybe next year....hey, this is audrey's first year to get her pic made with him! i also think it is fair to say that brett finally got a good appreciation for what i go through every thursday night at his football games.....hehehehe, paypack :) true, his games are much shorter but grant seems just as wild!!
