priceless family....

my yankee family, as i refer to them, came to birmingham to visit us this weekend.....we were so excited and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival!! grandma gert (my mom's mom), auntie joan & uncle joe (my mom's bro) had been down in wetumpka at my mom's for the week....they drove up friday to spend some time in b'ham and we were MORE than happy to have them and grams!!

grandma gert lives in rhode island and aunt/uncle live in connecticut.....we don't get to see them as often as we like, so when any of them visit it is a big deal and we love every minute of it....this was grandma's first time to meet grant.....she was quite impressed with how big and rough & tumble he is :)

it was fun for me to be able to cook for my family as well....friday night's dinner was awesome!! salmon with a royal hawaiian glaze over a bed of balsamic arugula, halibut, roasted garlic & olive oil couscous, corn-on-the-cob & cucumber, tomato and vidalia onion salad ~ yum-o!! angel food cake with sweetened strawberries and chocolate sauce for dessert....of course, there was good wine to go with all the good food!

saturday morning brett and uncle joe hit the golf course and we hit cracker barrel for a good breakfast....we sure do love to eat don't we!!! my family has always been one of those families that revolves all holidays, events, birthdays, or whatever around a meal....and i love that about us :)

4 generations!!

love all these ladies!!

we took the kids to the park saturday afternoon to blow off a little energy.....it was quite warm...the kids still loved it, after they got used to the hot equipment....

saturday night we went to dinner at GianMarco's.....amazing.....like i said before, we like to enjoy good food, good fellowship & good wine....

sunday there was even more golf to be played so after church we headed down to my mom's house and brett, michael & uncle joe were able to play the judge in prattville....we hung around the house and then the whole family came over for dinner.....good thing we only did this once to grandma :) those squealing girls and squealing grant can be a bit overwhelming for even the strongest person!!

priceless pics with all the kids, big & little.....

needless to say.....we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.....these priceless moments and precious pictures will be treasured.....thanks again yankee relatives for the visit!!
