soul soothing...

....we had a good for the soul, soothing weekend...

...complete with a sunday afternoon fire.....as a matter of fact, our first fire in our home....it is actually pretty obvious that we are not big *fire* people ~ just check out our fireplace "tools"above!! hey,we may not get into fires much but we sure are good at making do with what we've got....don't get me wrong....i enjoy a nice fire in the fireplace but i would prefer it come in the shape of gas logs....yeah, not this time....we haven't invested in gas logs yet & brett was afraid with the terribly cold temperatures we may need to have a fire....well, winter storm '10 was a bust, to say the least, so we decided to have a fire just because...

...friday night we all camped out ~ in the living room....it honestly looked like the linen closet vomited in there! we had a blast and the kids actually slept until 8am saturday morning...sweet!! to those of you without children, stop laughing....8am is AWESOME! to those of you with grown children, i'm sure you remember those days :) and to those of you with children my age, i hope you were able to rest some this weekend too!

it was a nice relaxing weekend.....i was even able to sit and read a book ~ wow ~ for a little while! this afternoon & evening we hope to continue soothing our souls and enjoy this cold sunday....bundled up together....maybe with a cup of hot chocolate....or two!

and for the current trials and tribulations in our home.....the water pipe issue....we've done all we can to reconcile this situation with the company & have stopped worrying....it will all work out and come together....now, if we can just figure out what is going wrong with the washing machine.....nice, real nice!
